I have had this happen to me twice before during my last pregnancy (and no, I am not pregnant for the record!!) both times they came about after me indulging in some highly/fatty and creamy food.
The last couple of days I have indulged in nutella pudding and the night before I had the stomach cramps from hell, I made some coconut ice-cream,which is basically frozen coconut water, mixed with coconut cream and rice malt syrup, so as you can see a little pattern was forming. They queried my gallbladder but after an ultrasound couldn't see any stones and have referred me on for another scan.
I think this might be my bodies way of telling me to cut back on the creamy foods for awhile.
Our household has also been hit by the gastro bug, with every member of the family being taken out by this asshole of a virus. The only one who has managed to stay vomit free, is the 1 year old and I really really hope it stays that way because I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. Vomiting out of both ends is never fun… but thats already too much information.
Whilst I was in hospital, they would not let me leave until I had eaten dinner and managed to keep it down. The food that I was served was a mixture of fructose with fructose or just plain fructose, however I really wasn't in a position to request that I speak to the chef. I settled on the pea and ham soup and 2 slices of bread. I tried a few brussel sprouts, some corn and the rest of the main meal was unfortunately not that nice, although it looked good if that counts???? The nurse came around and told me I needed to eat my pear slices to be able to leave, as I had really only eaten about 5 spoonfuls of soup and the 2 pieces of bread ( I had basically inhaled the bread because I was so bloody hungry). Who knows how much sugar I ate in that meal and for the record, I couldn't give an ostrich's bum, because I wasn't vomitting it up and after 7 hours of being in hospital, I could finally go home pain free!!
Today I am feeling so much better, still nauseous and slightly crampy but compared to how I was feeling yesterday, today feels great! I had planned to sleep and relax today but the husband decided that he wanted to get gastro last night (inconsiderate SOB) so he has been asleep all day because the 7 year old is also home sick and he doesn't do lay down and relax days off. I knew the moment I lay down to sleep, he would be asking for something, so it was best I take one for the team and let the husband recover as he was currently the one owning the toilet.... The 1 year old got shipped off to daycare today because for the first time ever, I think there is more germs in our house then in her daycare room (those words will never come out of my mouth again..) She was not happy about this arrangement and let me know this by doing her best "help me" eyes and screaming for me to not leave, as I passed her over to the daycare ladies. It seriously breaks my heart every time she does this, but I know she will be fine once I'm out of sight. It just feels horrible to leave her in that moment.
This week I have tried to cook a new recipe every night and was having great success until the gastro bug hit.
Here are the latest recipes

If I get my appetite back, I am also going to try and whip up Cous Cous with Roast cherry tomatoes and Pine nuts and a Pesto Pasta. I will post the recipes when I make these hit or miss dishes.
