I also had a killer headache the next day and I'm going to be completely honest, felt a little hungover. I just didn't feel right. Maybe it was my body punishing me for working after being in hospital 3 days previously, or maybe the sugar was making me feel sick… who knows and who cares really… The point of the story is, sugar is a a$$hole and no normal person gets hungover on 1.5 cans of alcohol...
I had a friend try and tell me this week that I should not be having so much fat in my diet. That it is going to be me a heart attack and that I need to go get my cholesterol checked ASAP. She came to this conclusion from me being in hospital and also from my meal plans I had been posting. I thought maybe having my cholesterol and stats checked, may not be a bad thing. I have been doing this for close to 7 months and have completely changed my eating habits. I would never consume cream or butter or anything high in fat because I thought it would make me fat. I would however indulge in "healthy sugary processed crap" like it was doing my body the world of good. I have also limited my meat intake in the last couple of months, with the husband jumping on the vegan bandwagon. So I wonder if this has effected my body at all. I am also pretty sure my husband is pushing me into the vegetarian realm even more, because I found a book on "protein" in my little book area in the toilet. He knows that I will have to read it, since it is my only reading material in the toilet (my other books disappeared). I have no idea why or if there is a help group for people like me but I read more literature in the toilet, then anywhere else in the house… yeh gross….
I was thinking I would book in to see a doctor next days off and see what insight into my insides he can give me (not about the reading in the toilet problem…)
As I mentioned in a previous blog entry, I have dedicated this month to trying a new recipe a night. This for some reason is only happening on the nights that the husband is home because when its just me and the kids, I am either blessed beyond words, to be being fed at my parents house or the kids eat there whilst I play sport OR our meal plan consists of a game of what can we make out of the little amount of food in the fridge, which always ends in takeaway because there is nothing one can make out of the contents of our fridge that would make a 7 year old and a 1 year old happy.
For this weeks meals plans I was feeling particularly lazy. The type of lazy where I don't even want to open up a cook book. The type of lazy, where I was thinking I would choose 7 meals off the chip on the thermomix. Then I had to go and stand at the counter and copy the ingredients from the Thermomix, as I don't have the cookbook and that started to seem like even more of an effort (are you feeling the laziness here…) So I decided all my meals for this week would come from the internet and I would just print them straight out. I love modern technology.
This is my meal plan for this week (see if you can figure out when the husband gets home)
Tuesday - Chicken Enchiladas (I bought these from Woolworths a while back and had them in the freezer)
Wednesday - Oztag night ,so something easy: Ham, tomato and cheese toasties
Thursday - Lentel, lemon and coconut curry
Friday - Cashew Chicken (husband can pick out chicken)
Saturday - Coconut Curried Sausages (ummm husband can pick out sausages)
Sunday - Thai Green Chicken Curry and Naan Bread (husband may be filing for divorce)
Monday - Quinoa Salad
Tuesday - Vegetarian Enchiladas.
As always, I will post recipes once I make them to keep me honest!
Happy Tuesday everyone
