Oh and did I mention that I set my alarm to get the family up for PM instead of AM and awoke at 7:55 this morning. Luckily the 6 year old and I have the before school routine pretty down pat and we made it through the school gate at 8:20... Go TEAM!
So after the night that was, the before school rush and then the long wait at the doctors I was feeling pretty flat, lucky the 1 year old is so dam cute and cuddly because she was my pick me up instead of chocolate!
Speaking of chocolate no cravings today, not sure the willpower could do 2 days in a row. Something really strange happened this evening. In our staff meeting a chocolate mud cheesecake was passed around and I didn't even get the teeniest inkling that I wanted or needed some. 10 days ago I would have jumped at the chance of some evening mud cake, there is no way that I would have passed up on that chocolate goodness. Especially at that hump time of the day but honestly it was like they were passing around a baby puppy on a plate, nice to look at but I wouldn't eat it... (need to work on my analogies )
I decided when the 1 year old went to sleep today that i would bake some Anzac cookies and also make another batch of LCM bars by request of the 6 year old. I had also bought some new baking paper as I was not going to risk anymore goods to that dam baking paper. For once they all turned out great. No hassles.
What did I eat today?
I decided I needed a hearty breakfast/lunch and made myself a ham and egg toastie. It really hit the spot!
This was a late lunch as I had a staff meeting from 3:30 till 6:30 and wanted to eat before I went. I demolished 3 left over pork sausage rolls with paper stuck to the bottom for extra goodness.
I had totally forgotten about the staff meeting until around 1pm and I was so looking forward to making the butter chicken tonight. However after the staff meeting my brain could have passed for a week old dry dog turd and all I wanted to do was snuggle up to the kids and go to bed. I can't follow instructions at the best of times, so tonight I wasn't even going to go there.
I made myself an avocado, chicken and cheese sandwich and then spent a good hour and a half trying to convince the 1 year old that it was sleep time, not party in the crib time. She disagreed and continued her concert led by DJ Scout the singing dog toy with back up vocals by the singing glow worm.
I may have had a hobnob biscuit for dessert, more out of habit then need. I was making the kids lunches for tomorrow and as I packed the biscuits into their lunch boxes, I just ate one! Hmm 1 for you 1 for me......
No sleep makes me cray cray
Who needs a meal plan when I can just live off sangas
Anzac biscuits tasted the best of all the things I have made, although it did have a cup of rice malt syrup in it...( hey i only had a taste...)
Can and will resist mud cake
1 year old is still hating on the foods I am offering her and the 6 year old is loving them!
I really need to get to sleep... the words are all blurring into one.
